Rediscovering Eden
Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the bright and morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart
Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours
Who Am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
and watch me rise again
Who Am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
I am Yours

Shape Run 2008
-4:20 AM
I slept at ard 10pm the night before, so that I can wake up at 530am in the morning. Even set my alarm to 510 so that it can snooze 3 times before i finally get off the bed. So, I got up at 535, changed, brush teeth, wash face, tie hair, fill bottle, eat breakfast and tada, 615am le. Daddy walked me out to the MRT station. Many many ppl with the trademark limegreen Shape Run '08 dry-fit boarded the train at the various stops. I was wearing my Adidas top and FBT shorts. I refuse to wear what Shape Run gave, dont ask me why. But maybe I should have worn something Nike since thats the main sponsor. Heck. When I reached City Hall, I thought I better go toilet, anyway, it was only 655am and the race was at 730am.But the queue was fringging long can,and by the time, i was the third person to the cubicles(there were only two. faints*, it was 725am. Cant believe my patience. I actually didnt get pissed. But i din feel like using the toilet anymore and went towards the Padang to deposit my bag and walked towards the start point. They were already announcing for the 10km ppl lo.
At the start point, man..it was jam-packed with all the 5km ppl. Why? Cos all the 10 km ppl ran off le!! The person announced over the speakers for the 5km ppl to make way for us. And you will see some sort of parting of the red sea, or green sea. But when we reached the start line, they put the barricade to prevent anyone from starting the race cos the 5km one was going to start real soon. SOOO, the 10km late comers climbed the barricade at the side and started the race.
When I reach Lau Pat Sat, which is like merely 2km? from the start point, I was already wishing that I had registered for the 5km race. Dots. Anyhow, I told myself to look far ahead and continue coz no backing out man! I was talking to God all the way, sometimes deviating to think abt other stuff, then back to God, then look see at scenery/buildings, mayb should just look straight..mayb will run faster.ha! Then when i reached some kind of slope after Shenton Way, I ran a bit faster cos dun wanna waste energy with slopes and finally I reached Marina SOuth, only to be stopped by a marshall to allow a truck to move. THen ran the Marina South route to Coughnaut Drive and its my most dont-like part of the race, even for Standard CHartered. Like, the scenery is nicee, but its fringging hot. I was SO SO happy to see the U-turn point. Cos i had stitches on the left during the 2km to 4km part, right knee cap pain due to old injury thereafter that i told myslef, just aim the 5km mark. THe funny thing is that when i hit that(which is after the U-turn), i started to run faster. Dont know why, but my legs started to have a mind of its own. Which is a good thing! Thank God! All the pain and what not disappeared. Ran faster for abt 2km, den decelerated to normal slow slow rate. heez.
THe organisers i think, really strategically stationed the signboards tt tell you at which mark of the race you are at. Cos, theres only the 4km, U turn, 5km(and they so smart not to put the 5km at the exact pt of the U-turn cos ppl like me, will just simply stop, esp if there is a water point, as tt of Standard Chartered), 6km and the next thing you know, you have 750m left and 500m left and YAY! I think if they put too many signboards, i'll just feel like taking a break at each signboard.
I was really really happy when I heard the click sound when I finished the race. Cos, my aim this round was to finish the race without stopping. I stopped during Standard Chartered and started stopping thereafter...felt really lousy after that. So yay! timing not that fantastic-around 78mins but it really doesnt matter to me cos I've reached my objective. Talked to God for a really long time and i was complaining abt the sun. Ha. Running from 730-815 was ok but anything after tt...I was looking for trees and shade.
THen went to queue first for baggage then for Sabaru Tee cos i figured tt sizes may run out. The queue was like so long, that i walked one big round to find the end of the queue. THen saw Sam and Elaine and their friend. Then went to queue for the fruits queue. Then queue for my runner's kit. THe bag is quite nice actually, i mean compared to other races.. I'm not complaining. THen inside got so many useful stuff. All the skincare productSS, contact lens stuff, race stuff, food, drinks, vouchers(and useful ones:)). My mother also say this run not bad. Got food and can run. haha. I'll really wanna run SHape again!
Okie. Thats all. Off for cell at Serene's place le.:)
okie. THats all.
